Open water swimming can be incredibly invigorating and fun, but it is important to keep safety top of mind. First, take a safety course if possible, so you gain the skills necessary to make it back safely to shore. Also consider getting a Swim Buoy - they’re not expensive and are very easy to transport in your bag. They greatly enhance visibility so other boats or jetskis in the area know where you are and can maneuver around you as needed. Above all else, never swim alone! Have a buddy with you at all times. With these tips in mind, there's no reason why you can't stay safe during your open water adventures!
